A thrilling evening of choral music centred on Mozart’s extraordinarily rich Vespere Solennes de Confessore, a work in which the composer gives full rein to the breadth of his musical voice from heart-melting beauty to stirring forcefulness. Phoenix Singers and soloists, under director Geoff Lavery, can be relied on to give a memorable and moving performance, but, as it is Christmas, the programme also includes an opportunity to join the Singers in some traditional carols.
